On a quarterly basis, we publish a version that combines all changes added since the last version. 🔹 Changelog Bondix Release 1.25.3 for Teltonika RutOS 7.13.3   👍 Improvements Renaming of SANE/S.A.NE to Bondix SANE/S.A.NE/Sane (eg “saneserver”) has been renamed in “Bondix” for copyright reasons. IPv6 This release supports IPv6 traffic inside the Bondix bonding channel. It includes the option to work with masqueraded ULA addresses but also routing of static, public IP subnets. Known limitation: BondingProxy is currently not supported. Prometheus Support The monitoring platform Prometheus ( prometheus.io ) is now supported. New Bondix Client UI Usability of the Bondix client in general and compatibility to the changed Teltonika web GUI have been improved. Auto-Detect LAN interface in Bondix Client  In scenarios where the LAN port configuration of a router was massively changed, there was a risk that the Bonding proxy was not able to identify the right interface for optimization. To mitigate this unwanted effect, this release includes an interface detection. Comment Fields for QoS Comments for new or modified QoS rules can now be made, for a better overview of rule purposes. OpenSSL3 The used SSL version has been upgraded to version 3.4.1 for improved security. Enhanced monitoring Monitoring of buffer size is now available. Diverse Improvements - Detection of “stucked packets” when a tunnel is disconnected has been stopped. - Server start when many environments are in use was improved. 🕷️ Bug fixes Channels with a latency of 0ms are not any longer considered to be useable. Safeguards and coping mechanisms for hanging IP flows have been enhanced. The detection of excessive retransmissions has been improved. A tunnel will no longer be restarted with "Sender flow stuck (timeout)" right after connect in specific configurations. Prometheus metric authentication now accepts the specified credentials. "Package Installation Failed" message with Teltonika packages no longer occurs. The package also now shows up correctly in the Package Manager and can be uninstalled there. On clients, tunnel names with a blank are now able to connect. The “Disconnect all Tunnel” button in the environment now works flawlessly. Environments can now be deleted. • Bondix Newsletter 2/2024

Mixing one's wines may be a mistake, but old and new wisdom mix admirably. Bertolt Brecht After long months of planning, discussing, bargaining and talking, it has finally been done: All things Bondix no longer belong to Azur Investment Group, but to newly founded SIMA GmbH, seated in Germany and headed by our very own Martin Santner and Simon Ley! Read more about this MBO, as well as about the Teltonika Tech Summit in Warszaw at which we gave a presentation and talked to so many people last week, a great relaunch of a Bondix distributor’s website, saveworthy dates and, of course, release notes of our newest Bondix version 1.24.1 in this newsletter! Contents Bondix® is now part of SIMA GmbH! Review: Teltonika Tech Summit 2024, Warsaw How to Bondix: SimpliWiFi’s Relaunch Saveworthy Dates Release Notes 1. 24.1 Bondix® is now part of SIMA GmbH! We are delighted to announce that Bondix®, the leading brand of manufacturer-independent bonding software, has been part of SIMA GmbH since the start of the year. Bondix® was introduced in 2019 under the leadership of Bondix Intelligence B.V., a daughter of Dutch Azur Investment Group. Without Azur Investment, we would never have come this far, so we’d like to express our thanks at this point. Christian Westers believed in us and, with Roderick Toutenhoofd, Tom Kroese, and Ruud Egberts, provided us with the right experts at the right time to build up the Bondix brand and make it known in the market. Our Martin Santner and Simon Ley have fulfilled a lifelong dream with the founding of SIMA GmbH and the management buyout of Bondix®. Roles will stay the same: In addition to new executive tasks, Martin will take care of sales and business development, and Simon will tend to all rather technical matters. Sylvia Ploch will also stay in the core team to ensure smooth operation and rip-roaring marketing. These are the most exciting times for us because we’re now leveraging our experience from our time at Bondix Intelligence B.V. to make Bondix a global player with the help of SIMA GmbH and new strategic partners. Let the journey begin! Review Teltonika Tech Summit 2024, Warsaw The Teltonika Networks Warsaw Tech Summit concluded last Thursday evening after a full day of engaging sessions. The agenda included multiple presentations on Teltonika Networks systems, a live demo of an awesome new Bondix-in-a-box solution SpeedFi containing a RUTX12 by our Martin Santner, and insights into QuWireless solutions for Teltonika's product range shared by Kamil Stalica, another Teltonika partner. Additionally, the event featured over 8 diverse workshops that sparked lively discussions and provided clients with the opportunity to address potential project challenges. Attendees also had the chance to test their knowledge and speed in the Teltonika Configuration challenge, focusing on configuring or fixing configurations on Teltonika units. The summit wrapped up with a presentation on the Teltonika Roadmap, accompanied by discussions about the market's needs and necessary solutions. Like the first Teltonika Tech Summit 2023 in Vilnius, Lithuania, this event proved to be such a booster for us. We were able to get in contact with so many important Teltonika partners in such a short time - so thank you, Teltonika Networks, for having us, and we're looking forward to the next Teltonika Tech Summit! Bondix Release Notes 1.24.1 Our developers work on our Bondix software incrementally which means that bug fixes, improvements, and even new features are constantly added, producing new release versions every couple of days. On a quarterly basis, we publish a version that combines all changes added since the last version. This Release Version 1.24.1 contains the following changes: Teltonika RUTOS-related changes Support for RutOS 07.06.3 has been added. The QoS editor has been redesigned and is now nearly identical to the editor known on the server. The ability to add/remove interfaces used for bonding was removed. Instead, all available WAN interfaces are always accessible for more straightforward configuration. Handling when dealing with multiplexed modem connections was improved. New Features Bandwidth limit per environment Until now, a Bondix instance could only be set to a bandwidth profile based on the activated license, e.g. 20 Mbps licenses needed to be bound to one instance, 100 Mbps licenses to another. With this new Bondix version, you can create different environments for different bandwidth profiles on a single server instance. This means, on a Bondix instance that is licensed for e.g. 200 Mbps bandwidth per tunnel, you can now create different environments with specific bandwidth limits per environment that are equal or lower to 200 Mbps. Please keep in mind that environments’ bandwidth limits are limited themselves by the highest throughput the instance is licensed for. In this example, this means you couldn’t create an environment with a bandwidth limit of 500 Mbps because the instance is licensed for 200 Mbps. Import & Export of QoS settings With this Bondix version, you can now import and export your QoS settings for easier bulk management. Improvements Client As a precaution, the client can now be configured to automatically restart if a connection has not been successful for a given amount of time. This is only relevant for low-level integration of the client, and not configurable in e.g. the Teltonika packages. The Cloudlink integration has been improved as the Client now talks to the Cloudlink server and gets its own server address. Server On the server, you can now configure a global tunnel limit. Incoming tunnel connections that would exceed this limit are asked to connect to a different/backup server. Should the tunnel reconnect within a given time interval, the tunnel is still accepted, making it a rather soft limit. To enable this feature, add the following command to /etc/saneserver.json: {"target": "tunnel", "action": "set-tunnel-limit", "maxTunnel": 100, "gracePeriod": 10}. In this example, the maximum number of tunnels is set to 100, with a reconnect grace period of 10 seconds. The server can now automatically remove tunnels that have been created by certificate au thentication. To enable this feature, add the following command to /etc/saneserver.json: {"target": "tunnel", "action": "set-tunnel-autoremove", "enabled": true, "timeout": 300} In this example, certificate tunnels would be removed after an inactivity of 5 minutes (300 seconds). Find more information on tunnel limits here: Bondix Wiki / Certificates / Additional Options Bug Fixes Client An issue where an updated interface list could cause interfaces to be mixed up has been fixed. This could be easily reproduced by e.g. disabling one interface and enabling another. Certain CloudLink configurations could not be parsed by the client. The client should no longer report "Certificate check failed" when a server rejects its connection. Server It was possible that the server would not respect the memory constraints of a connected client, resulting in a " Memory limit deadlock ", followed by a tunnel reconnect. The issue would mostly show up on more powerful clients. Client/Server An issue where (non-proxied) IP traffic could cause buffer bloat, especially in scenarios where traffic was bandwidth limited, was fixed. When using encryption, it was possible that a tunnel channel connection went out of sync if there was enough packet loss. To make matters worse, the desynchronization issue persisted even after a channel reconnect, with the only mitigation being a manual tunnel reconnect. Depending on the architecture, SANE would send many small control-traffic packets instead of grouping them. This was more likely to occur on more powerful clients. The number of control packets should now be reduced by making sure that certain messages are now grouped. • Bondix Newsletter 9-11/2023

Good things come to those who wait - such is also the case with Bondix QoS. Our developers have been working on it relentlessly and finally, we're able to publish it. In addition to that, this newsletter gives you information about a new contact form, new partners, very notable partner landing pages, saveworthy dates, and - of course - new release notes. Contents New Webpage: Contact Bondix QoS New Partner Novatel Communications How to Bondix: Landing Pages Saveworthy Dates Release Notes 1.23.10.1 New Webpage: Contact As a next step to a fully functional partner portal, we’ve recently restructured our website a bit in regards to the possibilities to get in contact with us. So far, we had one contact form that served as a sort of gateway to all of our expertise. Now, we have a Contact page that gives all the ways to get in touch with us in one place - including two contact forms: General Questions This is the same form you already know. Use this form if you want to ask us anything about our products, services, pricing, partnerships, or anything else that is not related to technical support. As we need to make a clear cut, support requests submitted via this form will no longer be handled at all . Support Requests This form is new and the one to use if you need help with troubleshooting, installation, configuration, or any other technical issues related to our products. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can assist you better. This will automatically create an incident in our ticketing system that helps us keep a better overview and provide better support. We hope that these changes will improve your experience and satisfaction with Bondix. Bondix QoS - It has been done. With this newsletter, we can finally present what we’ve been working on so diligently the last few months: Quality-of-Service settings for Bondix S.A.NE. If done right, QoS will be a gamechanger for you. With QoS, you can prioritize outgoing and incoming traffic independent of the WAN connections you're using, according to your specific needs. You can give higher priority to voice and video packets over data packets to reduce latency in live applications, you can reserve bandwidth for certain types of traffic to precent congestion and packet loss, and so much more. We also took the liberty of improving and decluttering our Server web interface. It’s cleaner now and more structured. In Bondix, QoS is something that affects not only our Client but also our Server software. So in order to use it properly, you’ll have to update both. For more information, consult this newsletter's Release Notes and/or the QoS documention in our Knowledge Base Wiki . This documentation is still work in progress, so we greatly appreciate your feedback ! Bondix S.A.NE Release Notes 1.23.10.1 Our developers work on Bondix S.A.NE software incrementally which means that bug fixes, improvements, and even new features are constantly added, producing new release versions every couple of days. On a monthly basis, we publish a version that combines all changes added since the last version. This Release Version 1.23.10.1 contains the following changes: New Features Bondix QoS Bondix now has Quality-of-Service options. Documentation is given in the Bondix Knowledge Base Wiki: Bondix QoS (still work in progress). Client and Server are fully backwards compatible. However, QoS settings are not applied when a client running on this latest version of Bondix S.A.NE is connected to a server running an older server version (or vice versa). Also, BondingProxy is part of QoS, so you can specify for which traffic BondingProxy should be used. Global Down- and Upstream Limit With this new release, the maximum bonding throughput of the Teltonika RUTX series was increased from 180 to 200 Mbps. The standard throughput setting is still 180 Mbps but can be manually set to up to 200 Mbps in the Bondix S.A.NE Advanced Settings menu. A value of 0 will always set said standard limit to 180 Mbps. Previously, this could also be done via the debug settings on the server but those settings were non-persistent and lost on tunnel restart. Individual Channel Configuration on Server It's now possible to make individual persistent settings for each WAN connection on the server in the menu "Tunnel / Environments" - "Channel" via "Fine Tuning" . Also, this tab now offers much more information on the individual WAN connections. TCP Port Forwarding Outgoing TCP Port Forwarding can now easily be configured in the Server web interface, menu "Tunnel / Environments" - "Routing" . This way, you can set up TCP port forwards on the server for any target behind a client tunnel. Port forwards must be explicitly allowed on the client side. Incoming TCP Port Forwarding can now be allowed in the Bondix S.A.NE Advanced Settings , option "Allow incoming port forwardings" . This enables you to allow incoming TCP port forwards on the client for any target behind a client tunnel. Monitor The Bondix Monitor is now available under "Tunnel / Environments" - "Monitor". Also, former "Expert Settings" are now "Debug Settings" in the menu "Tunnel / Environments" - "General" and come with a nasty warning. Improvements Server Web Interface Improvements The tunnel detail view has been reorganized to better reflect the new QoS configuration. Client/Server Better Tunnel MTU sizing Tunnel MTU size is now configurable. Tunnel MTU is set in the server environment settings and is applied to all tunnels in the environment. If an older client without support for this feature is connected, packets exceeding 1500 bytes will be dropped. Improved logic Retransmit logic on packet loss has been improved. In some cases, retransmits would be sent over the same link when better alternatives are available. Optimized buffer use BondingProxy now buffers less data, reducing latency/jitter in high bandwidth scenarios. Bug Fixes Client The Bondix Web UI on Teltonika’s RutOS no longer needs clearing browser cache when updating to a new version. Server Startup of the https server is delayed until initialization is complete. Before, it was possible that a server declined an incoming tunnel connection because the configuration was not yet fully loaded. Client/Server Some command line feature flags that should always be enabled either way were removed. If these flags are still passed to the application, it will silently ignore them. • Bondix Newsletter 8/2023

Silly season is not our thing because this newsletter has tons of information - on a new config mode in cooperation with Bondix partner Unwired Networks, a new release cycle, a new partner portal, car racing, saveworthy dates, and - of course - new release notes. Contents New Config Mode: Unwired Cloudlink New Release Cycle New Partner Portal in the making NXT Gen Cup Saveworthy Dates Release Notes 8/2023 New Config Mode: Unwired Cloudlink Using Bondix S.A.NE now gets even easier: With this month's release, Teltonika users need no longer worry about where to host the required Bondix S.A.NE server. They can easily choose Bondix partner Unwired Network's CloudLink , a hosting service for their Bondix S.A.NE server, to combine with their Bondix S.A.NE license within a few seconds. Please find more information on this early-access feature in the Release Notes down below. If you as a managed service provider or ISP are interested in also being listed with a comparable service, reach out to our sales team at sales@bondixintelligence.com . New Release Cycle A few weeks ago, we officially launched our beta testers mailing list for all those of you that are interested in testing the devil out of our software versions. This is based on a decision we had to make to give our developers a bit more room to breathe. Also, we've started cooperations with so many awesome manufacturers, e.g. Digi International to name the latest, and we have even more in the pipeline so we want to become even easier to work with: We’ll divide our releases into feature and maintenance releases. As the name suggests, feature releases will contain new features additional to improvements and bug fixes and will be published once per quarter, starting September 2023. Maintenance releases will only contain improvements and bug fixes, as well as support for new Teltonika firmware versions, and will be published monthly in between feature releases. We’ll also change the versioning system of coming software releases so it’s easier to understand and talk about. New Partner Portal in the making When we started selling licenses in 2020, we had exactly one partner. We’ve come a long way from there, thanks to that one partner and all others of you that came after, your marketing efforts, your projects and your love for trying new technology. So, to be able to give you the support you need, we’ll soon introduce a new partner portal. That portal will enable you to search through a hopefully more extensive knowledge database and open up support tickets in case you don’t find the information you need, but also to see how many license credits you have and to easily generate licenses codes yourself. The distributors amongst you will be able to share their licenses credits with their associated partners. Also, you’ll be able to easily terminate subscriptions for yourself or your customers through this portal. Right now, we’ll launch this partner portal in two steps: Knowledge base and ticketing is planned to be rolled out by the end of September 2023 while the licensing part will start at the end of October 2023. NXT Gen Cup: Cooperation at its best On 5 August 2023, we were gifted a very rare opportunity for us: to experience our technology from up close, live and in action. Our solution partner R System Solutions invited us to join them in their paddock at Nurburgring, Germany, for the NXT Gen Cup that took place during DTM. We were allowed to climb into one of the racing cars ourselves and even better, we had the chance to look over the RSys technicians' shoulders. So many impressions! Such an adventure! We're just blown away by all the inventions RSys showed us: crystal clear audio transmission, 4 smooth camera feeds from inside the vehicle, live monitoring of battery status and telemetry data including thermal imaging of the battery - and all this with 0,0% data loss thanks to bonded connectivity powered by Bondix S.A.NE. Until we’ve finished our corresponding case study, hop on over to RSys' YouTube channel and watch them talk about their solution here: A behind the scenes look of what R System Solutions does for NXTGen Cup Thank you, R System Solutions, for the invitation, for letting us be there and probably look not as intelligent with our open mouths, and let's do this again - preferably in Portugal with less cold and less rain. <3 Saveworthy Dates With ever more partners joining the Bondix network, we'd like to use our reach to point out events that our partners or we organize or attend and that might be of interest to all of you.
